[A very special concept of mine that holds quite a lot of meaning to me. Modeled by the lovely Elena; Blake and Elena both helped immensely with the lighting of this one.]
I actually expanded this shot to include the higher branches of the trees. Elena is a superb model who I wish lived a bit closer, because I'd be working with her constantly if that were the case.
The Frankl quote fits this picture perfectly. Her pose and facial expression convey humbleness that comes from enduring burning, as if she was a part of the candles' flames. She knows she's lighting a path for a great cause.
I also like the illusion I'm getting from this—it looks like she's bringing daylight to a perpetually sombre forest.
I was wondering if the cropping would have worked better without the non-candlelit area in the top. It wouldn't, because there's a flame-shaped daylight spot above the path, which would otherwise be cut from its top.
