I thought this week couldn't get any better, and then...
Recently, one of my cosplay photos was selected out of over 15,000 entries to be a part of deviantART's charity event at San Diego Comic-con, for the Shriner Burn Hospital (a hospital that provides burn care for children). The dA admin told me it was a finalist a few weeks ago, but I lost communication after giving her the consent forms she requested. As it turns out, it did indeed make it in!!
ANYWAY, my father is there, and his wife snagged this shot of my photo, hanging up at SDCC and being auctioned off!! Twisted Esmerelda
. It's received bids up to $100 last I checked, and I hope it gets more, as 100% of the proceeds go to the hospital! I feel absolutely honored to have my work going toward an awesome cause. The spectacular model is one of my best friends, and I did the makeup you see here as well as the photo and postprocessing. She did a phenomenal job portraying Twisted Esmerelda! (Based off of the conceptual series of Twisted Disney princesses created by the very talented Jeffrey Thomas
If any of you are attending San Diego Comic-con, definitely check out the art show on the second floor near registration, and take a peek at all of the amazing art in there!
